Matt Colman Presents
Magic of the Masters
New for 2025! Acclaimed master magician Matt Colman invites you on a spellbinding journey into the golden age of magic—a proper magic show where astonishing mini-illusions and expert sleight of hand are brought to life alongside the remarkable stories of the magicians who first created them. Whilst largely unknown to the general public now, in their day, they were the celebrity magicians who wowed the world and continue to inspire magicians today.
In Magic of the Masters, dazzling recreations of legendary feats unfold before your eyes. You’ll see dozens of silver coins appear and cascade from thin air in tribute to T. Nelson Downs, the King of Koins, whose groundbreaking sleight of hand transformed coin magic forever. Experience the early wonders of Harry Houdini, before he became famous for daring escapes, when his name was first made through clever stage magic. Discover the cunning artistry of S.W. Erdnase, the mysterious author whose 1902 book on card handling reshaped the craft and whose true identity remains unsolved to this day. Marvel at the boldness of Max Malini, who astonished royalty and high society with miracles performed under impossible conditions, and enjoy the wit and warmth of Billy McComb, the beloved Irish conjuror who charmed the world as “Ireland’s Biggest Leprechaun.” Along the way, Matt even explores the enduring legend of the Indian Rope Trick, a story so powerful it became one of the most famous illusions ever told—whether it truly existed or not.
This is a performance woven with history—where the great magicians of the past are celebrated not only in story, but through live magic performed before your very eyes.
Running 50–60 minutes, the show concludes with a lively Q&A session, giving audiences a chance to connect with Matt and the timeless art of illusion.
Step back in time, meet the masters, and witness their miracles performed anew.
