A Magical Evening at Bolesworth Castle
It’s always a privilege to perform at incredible venues, and Bolesworth Castle was no exception. When I was asked to perform at a private dinner there, I knew it would be an evening to remember. As the guests gathered for a gourmet meal in the grand surroundings, I had the opportunity to showcase my close-up magic and mind reading, creating an intimate, awe-inspiring experience for everyone involved.
The Legacy of Magic at High-Society Events
Magic has always had a special place in the hearts of the British elite. From intimate parlour performances in the 19th century to modern-day private events, magicians have long been a part of high-society gatherings. The allure of magic at these prestigious events is not just about tricks—it’s about creating a sense of wonder and connection with the audience, a tradition that dates back to magicians like Max Malini, who performed for royalty across Europe.
Malini, known as the “magician of kings,” was a master of close-up magic, creating bespoke performances for small groups of royalty and heads of state. His skill in adapting to each audience made his performances legendary, and it’s a style of magic I aim to continue. Like Malini, my goal is to create a personal experience where the audience feels truly immersed in the magic.
Close-Up Magic: The Heart of Prestige Events
Performing close-up magic for a select group of people at venues like Bolesworth Castle offers a unique experience. It’s not just about the tricks themselves but about building a connection with the audience, making each person feel like the magic is happening just for them. As I moved through the room, performing with cards, coins, and other everyday objects, I saw the disbelief and amazement in their eyes—moments that are as exciting for me as they are for them.
Mind Reading: Taking It to the Next Level
After the dinner, I moved on to my mind-reading performance. There’s something truly magical about mentalism—the art of reading thoughts and influencing decisions. It’s a form of magic that works beautifully in intimate settings like this, adding an extra layer of mystery and excitement to the evening. Watching the guests try to figure out how I could possibly know their thoughts is always one of the most thrilling parts of the performance.

Performing at exclusive events like this one at Bolesworth Castle is a privilege, and it’s a reminder of the rich history of parlour magic. The tradition of magicians performing at luxury venues, creating personal and unforgettable experiences, is something I’m proud to be part of.
